What are you Professions on your Priest oozo? If you are Engi that would be nice to incorporate into your pvp vids :D just my imo

Very nice movie. Editing was great, especially when your char popped in and laughed or did something - it gave more depth.

Skill was so-so. You need to work on reaction times and you need to get more experience on what to do vs certain classes (also rank 1 sw:p please). Plus, that shaman was a real tool - she didn't even use shocks for interrupting casts. I'm not exagerating when I say it was an e-bayed char.

All in all, the Messiah part gets the highest grade - because it merged so well with your character.

Well done!

3.5/5

Could you give me some specific examples where my reactions were slow?

going off to work now, nightshifts at a casino o.O - I'll have an answer ready before this time tomorrow.

Tea,

Thought I had replied already. Hrm. I'm tailoring and enchanting and I'm pretty much locked into it as I'm the only one who can make certain recipes for my friends.

Pretty good, though I would'ye been a little more conseryatiye about what clips I put in (for example, I'd cut out that part where a priest managed to heal your target and you giye up while the three of them beat you down). Also, where was that awesome Oozo humor?

Akumu X said...

I liked it fine, but as mentioned, what happened to the jokes? Is S. Priest anywhere near as fun for you as Rogue was in its hay day?

Sometimes I put clips in for just making a point. But, I didn't comment anything so the point gets lost. :)

A lot of this was done during AB weekend. And a lot of times I was in a PuG v. Preform match. Strangely enough these are actually matches I look forward to when making a movie because the chance of singling out a geared/decent player is much better than when doing PuG v PuG.

Many times a preform will leave a single player at the LM, mine, or stables. In this scene they leave a single mage at the stables. What annoys me is that a lot of these l33t "team" players will avoid a true 1v1 like the plague. This guy flat out called for help and used a healing potion to hold out til help arrived. I find this totally annoying... and it happens a lot and it is quite frustrating.

i loved the song and sequence in the middle of the video where you steamrolled those greenies and solo cap'd LM.

my priest is now 33 and climbing.

As far as humor goes. I actually have a "serious" storyline (which has it's basis in a song) that goes with this character and have been debating on/off whether to try to relate that story via an introduction scene and cutscenes (lots of editting work).

I'm afraid that bringing too much humor into this character might spoil those scenes if I do go that route in a later movie.

With that said, I do have some nice spoof ideas. But they only pertain to rogues. Shadowpriests are serious business. :P

Raggok said...

Hey! One of those greenies was a 69 mage! But, yeah... should have stayed 69. :P

Ok Oozo. Here's the answer as I promised you.

*WotF. In the 2nd fight (NE warrior) your reaction time is like 1.5s.

*Decisions.
+ Against that fire mage at ST - when you get csed, --click-- out of shadowform and heal up or wand him.
+ Against the Gnome rogue at ST, you let him get out of combat when he uses CloS. Rank 1 sw:p will keep him in combat and have a chance to stun him.
+ Use dispel more. That AP mage at between BS and Mine shouldn't have AP up as long (and it was a crappy fight to include as well with the slow reaction time of his).
+ You fight a shadowpriest and a rogue at ST. Before you die you have chances to dispel yourself and heal up.
+ During the brilliant fight at LM, when you're OOM with that rogue after you, you seem to look for a buff at the LM but choose to wand instead when you could've grabbed the speedboots buff.
+ The shaman fight was plain low quality as said before.
+ When you state that there will come a series of "tough" fights, the first fight shouldn't be easy peasy - this lowers credibility and interest. You could've killed two of him.
(+ Inner Fire isn't refreshed vs the BM hunter in WSG, pets will do this.)
+ Again, dispel more. You let hunter's mark be on you against the hunter in the end, when you just walk up to him. Rank 1 sw:p isn'nt bad here either (or a net).

Use nets so you can get more 1vsN fights.
Equip a gotdamn PvP trinket.
Get feathers so you can use levitate whenever you want to (assualt by air (LM->BS f.e) looks pretty nice).
Use dispel more. There's tons of stuffs to dispel on you and your enemy (drain life, nether protection, trinket buffs f.e).
Imp. Inner Fire works out to be like 2% dmg reduction :(. Don't take it when you go heavier disc.
Don't make your char a joke, go for the tainted strong female storyline. A joker cannot be an ace in this case.
Be more active in the priest forum to gain supporters there, if you want higher traffic on your site.

And again, that temple of dreams part was fucking brilliant. It shows incredible potential.

**WotF. In the 2nd fight (NE warrior) your reaction time is like 1.5s.**

Yes, I was slow on that. I'm usually very fast with my WoTF. Check Chromed's movies. I just wasn't expecting it and I let down or something because the guy was toast at that point anyway.

**Against that fire mage at ST - when you get csed, --click-- out of shadowform and heal up or wand him.**

I usually wand them here. I have tried to slip out and heal, but their dmg is just too much for my healing. I'm fighting mages with better gear than me here and it just doesn't work. UNLESS, I do it as I'm running away which forces them into mostly instants. I can get away doing that. But toe-to-toe there is no way I can outheal their damage.

**Against the Gnome rogue at ST, you let him get out of combat when he uses CloS. Rank 1 sw:p will keep him in combat and have a chance to stun him.**

I used a net on the rogue a little after he used CoS. He shouldn't have gone OOC unless something bugged? Hmmm... the combat message doesn't say anything about the net, but you can see I use it from animation and the action bar. I wonder if there is a bug there.

3:39 - Cloak of Shadows
3:40 - Net (with no message) but look at action bar
3:45 - I hit him with my staff
3:46 - Dots

**Use dispel more. That AP mage at between BS and Mine shouldn't have AP up as long (and it was a crappy fight to include as well with the slow reaction time of his).**

Yeah, that was a mistake. But how about the mage and warrior at the BS? I dispelled the mage's AP and his POM. :P

BTW, that fight was filler to get the song complete. I needed a short clip.

**You fight a shadowpriest and a rogue at ST. Before you die you have chances to dispel yourself and heal up.**

I totally disagree here. The dwarf SP almost immediately resurrected at his body after I killed him and loaded me back up, hit me with SW;D, and mind flayed. I barely had time to kill the rogue, as is. If I had done ANYTHING else GCDs could have prevented me from killing the rogue. And what if the SP had just silenced me? I had to make a decision there and the decision was to take the rogue down with me. I got screwed by fighting too close the GY, that's all. If the SP had not respawned that would have been a clean 1v2.

**When you state that there will come a series of "tough" fights, the first fight shouldn't be easy peasy - this lowers credibility and interest. You could've killed two of him.**

Go watch that again. :P And look for the part with my character laughing and the message at the bottom saying "Just kidding."

It was a joke, but maybe it's too subtle. :(

**+ Again, dispel more. You let hunter's mark be on you against the hunter in the end, when you just walk up to him. Rank 1 sw:p isn'nt bad here either (or a net).**

I've found dispelling mark to be a waste of time. Almost all of them put it back up immediately. :(

And, I did use a net on him! Go see! :P

Okay, lots of good advice and some good points (oh, I should have gotten the sprint buff up at the LM obviously). A few things I think you either have or saw wrong or I disagree with you on. But, that's fine. Some things are easy to miss unless you were there.

I see a ton of mistakes when I watch my movies as well. They are something to learn from.

I gotta say it's a lot more different then your Oozo movies, and it's pretty nice.

I liked the movie a lot, it made it in my collection. One suggestion tho, in order to give the movie a more alert pace, have you considerred running it with some 20% more speed ? Like Dance's movies ?

Raggok said...

I might do that because people seem to think of the PvP as being slow with the SP. Global cooldown has a lot to do with that, IMO.

I've always ended up holding back on doing things like that though, because I didn't want to deceive people via editting. At most, I've made some portions a little faster or a little slower so it would fit a song. But, I've never considered just doing an across the board speed increase.

BUT, maybe it's okay now because most people these days only care about editting. It's definitely an "image is everything" world out there right now.

Akumu X said...

Image is everything because there's not much new on the gaming content front. It's all been done and it irks me to see people looking for 'something new.' Folks, this game is aging the 'something new' are all but gone from here. The 'new' things around people don't even mention anyway. That one guy mid air ambushing, deadly throwing people on flying mounts, this is about all you're going to get...

So with that in mind the 'new' needs to come in for of music syncing or humor or a story or 2 players in one movie (like the Sunken/Eryx thing a good bit ago) or some crazy good editing. The game can only go so far before it's nearly all been done before. =\

Kensai said...

I don't know, but it's not about the image. It's about the action. And by action i mean movement and control. See, i tried to watch a hunter movie once, but i couldn't. it's dead boring. Melee combat or a lot of movement helps a lot, that's what i liked about you and Dance, you don't just sit in one place and DoT, MF etc you actually move around. Yeah, i know, GCD is a bitch, i feel it so much on my shaman when i drop totems, but lucky for me i have the shocks so i can move around a bit. What can i say, it was a good movie and i expect more from you.
